A Little Bit British

Inspired by London 2012

and the Queen's Jubilee,

here are some more cards from my

A Little Bit Vintage class last week.

Loving the Finial Press folder
with crumb cake ink.

Loving the crowns

... lots of distressing and a little bling.

Rosy

One of the cards from last week's

A Little Bit Vintage class.

Featuring the rose stamp from

Elements of Style

with a greeting from Ovals All.

The background is Beau Chateau DSP,

and that set the colour scheme of

Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

I think Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery are colours

that can be used directly on this type of image,

over the shading, as I've done here,

to add some subtle colour.

I'll be running classes again in September, stay tuned.

Nature Walk - JAI 131 Challenge

Today I joined the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge.

These were the colours I could use:

I've always liked Garden Green,
usually on Christmas cards.

Using it as a feature colour with neutrals
was a little more tricky!

It's windy here today,
and a bird's nest fell in our garden,
inspiring me to use one of my
favourite sets, Nature Walk,
and feature the bird.

I embossed the background using Finial Press,
first rubbing Crumb Cake ink on the folder.
(I will miss this folder so much when it retires in two weeks!)

Actually this is a soft little nest that fell another day, that I kept.
Today's one is quite large and has some orange rope woven in!

I also used stamps from Elements of Style and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Inside is a greeting, this card will be for Dad.

Thanks for visiting!

Apothecary Art 60th Birthday Card

Apothecary Art Birthday Card
This is the card I made

for my sister-in-law's 60th birthday.

I couldn't show you last week,

because I hadn't given it to her yet!

(not that she probably reads this blog, but you never know ....)

Sue loves anything blue and traditional,

so I thought she would like this combination.

I have to say I was heavily influenced by this video

and learnt to colour with

watercolour crayons and a blender pen

for the first time.

I've always used water with the crayons before,

which works best on watercolour paper.

But this technique works well on the normal

Whisper White card.

I had a lovely relaxing time colouring the roses and background,

then added background stamps,

embossing, die cut numbers, lace, button and pearls

This stamp set (with matching dies) has disappeared now

with the end of the Autumn-Winter mini,

but I have a feeling we'll be seeing it again very soon!
